CDS Exam Syllabus 2022
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the stage-I of the CDS Examination slated to be held on April 10, 2022. Interested aspirants should know that the UPSC CDS Mains Examination Syllabus is available online on this page at all section wise including Maths, GA & English Language and candidate needs to read it thoroughly before appearing in the exam.
Please also know that for Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA) and Air Force Academy (AFA), the syllabus is based on three sections, whereas OTA is based on only two. Still, each section will have a duration of 2 hours.
OTA and CDS-IMA/INA/AFA Exams Syllabus
Candidates are aware that the CDS Selection will take place through 3 stages and of them 1st stage is called Preliminary Exam. This exam will get conducted on the basis of 2-hour duration on all three sections, i.e. Mathematics, English Language and General Knowledge for both OTA and CDS-IMA/INA/AFA.
The candidates who secure their entry in the 1st stage will move ahead to next stage known as Mains where they have to undergo further testing of 3 hours in time duration with one subject as each and general subjects together at the end.
The syllabus of the UPSC CDS examinations consists of mainly three sections mathematics English and general knowledge.
CDS 2022 Exam – English Syllabus
The CDS exam syllabus of English focuses mainly on:
Vocabulary, Antonym, Synonyms and Idioms.
Phrases spotting the errors.
Grammar and comprehension.
Rearrangement of sentences (sentence structure).
Rearrangement of paragraph.
Passive and active voice.
Jumble sentences, jumbled paragraph.
CDS 2022 Exam – General Knowledge(GK) Syllabus
History: Ancient, Medieval and Modern History
Geography: Universe, World geography, Indian geography, Indian economic Geography.
Indian Politics: Parliamentary Reforms (Amendment), Constitution of India, Parliament (legislative, Executive and Judiciary).
Economics: Finance, Banking system, Micro and Marco Economics.

CDS 2022 Exam – Mathematics Syllabus
Arithmetic, Mensuration, Geometry, T -Ratios, Trigonometry, Statistics, Data Interpretation, Algebra, Number System.
