ABOUT AFCAT EXAM
What is AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test)
AFCAT Exam is conducted by Indian Air force for selection of officer in the three major branches : Flying branch, Technical branch, Ground duty branch. It is conducted in twice in year (December/February and June/august).
Duration of exam is 2 hours and 100 objective types questions. Each question contain 3 marks & negative marking for wrong question if -1.
Eligibility Criteria for AFCAT Exam
FLYING BRANCH
There is different eligibility criteria for each branch as explained below:
Education Qualification: Graduates from recognized University from 60% marks and have Passed Maths and Physics at 10+2.
Age limit: 19-23 years.
Height: 162.5 cms
TECHNICAL BRANCH
GROUND DUTY BRANCH

AFCAT Exam Syllabus
The AFCAT is a paper having duration of 2 hours. Consisting of the following syllabus:
- General Awareness: History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defense, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc.
- Verbal Ability in English: Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms (meanings of English words), Antonyms (opposite meanings of English words) and Vocabulary evaluation.
- Numerical Ability: Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & Loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.
- Reasoning and Military Aptitude: Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.
Notification/Advertisement for AFCAT Exam
The AFCAT paper occurs twice a year generally in February and August every year. Now the next question which comes in the mind of the candidate is as to when to apply for the AFCAT Written examination.
You can apply for the AFCAT examination; the Advertisement for AFCAT comes every year during the months of December and June. This AFCAT is common for both males/females.
