Indian Air Force (I.A.F.) conducts the Air Force Common Admission Test or what be termed as AFCAT, the paper is conducted twice every year. The AFCAT test is conduct for and by the Indian Air Force. The reason for this this test is to get officers recruited (both men and women) for three branches of the Indian Airforce (and their sub branches) these include Technical, Flying and Ground Staff Duty. What Posts can one apply for: One can apply depending on one’s age and the educational qualification for the post of officers in the Technical, Flying and Ground Duty Branches of Indian Air Force (I.A.F.).
Minimum Educational Standards: However the educational standards/qualification differs according to different posts yet the minimum qualification required is for a person to be a graduate.
Age: Minimum Age starts from 20, and the upper limit changes according to different branches.
Examination Pattern for AFCAT: One common test of 100 questions, is there and it is to be solved by all candidates in maximum time allotted for 2 hours. The Technical Branch candidates have to give an addition paper of EKT also known as Engineering Knowledge Test, both tests are objective. Successful aspirants get a opportunity to appear for their respective AFSB, and recommended aspirants can be called for training depending on their rank in the final merit list and also subject to their individual medical fitness.
The Syllabus for AFCAT EXAMINATION : The questions which are asked in the common test contain basic Science, English, Science, Maths , History, Geography Current Affairs and Verbal/Non-verbal Reasoning.
